Last week’s quiz was associated with making reservations:  Is it advisable to have reservations for lodging and attractions?   The answer is yes, particularly from the middle of June until the end of August.  Although Alaska is a big place, only a small area is developed and there are many people from many countries interested in coming here.  It is advisable  to research and plan carefully.  Get maps and guidebooks from the Alaska travel bureau and develop a detailed itinerary.  And ask each place/attraction about their cancellation policy.  Some businesses are more flexible than others.

Now, this week’s quiz:  There are 5 species of salmon in Alaskan waters: King salmon, silver salmon, dog salmon, red salmon and pink salmon.  They are each known by a different name.  Match the salmon species to the nickname, which include coho, sockeye, humpy, chum and chinook.  Good Luck!!
