Cantwell, Alaska is a small town of about 200 year-round residents located 27 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park. Despite its size, Cantwell has a surprising array of services and amenities that make it an attractive place to stop and stay. Here is a list of some of the amenities:
SERVICES: 3 lodges and an RV park (that would be us), 2 gas stations with convenience stores, a restaurant, a local veterinarian, library, post office, tourist information (us again), mechanical and tire repair services and souvenir shops.
ATTRACTIONS: A working dog sled kennel that offers tours and demonstrations, guided fishing services, a jet boat adventure ride that includes a tour of an old homestead, a local flight seeing service and awesome views of Denali. We can also take credit for the awesome landscapes and waterways along the pristine Denali Highway , since Cantwell sits at the intersection of this highway and the Parks highway.
And, of course, exceptional blue berry picking in August! So come check us out and stay a while.
